This is an open event for all members of the Order of the Amaranth and those who are eligible to become members of the Order. Dress is casual. Refreshments will be served. Contact Carla Hill, RM at 615-491-8130 or email at tripletmom1994@yahoo.com for more information.
The Amaranth is an organization similar to the Eastern Star. When the orders
were started they were connected similar to the way the KYCH is to the York
Rite. One had to be a past presiding officer of the OES to join the Amaranth.
After a few years they split. Now you can belong to one or the other or both.
Like all Masonic organizations the Amaranth membership is declining. That is
not a great surprise to any of us, but when you only have 300 - 400 members in
8 courts in the state of Tennessee you stand a chance of losing your entire
organization rather quickly. The charity the Amaranth supports is the American
Diabetis Association. Like the Eastern Star, the Amaranth is an organization
couples can do together or the ladies can do to get a night out away from
their husbands.
